The islands magic lies in their modern lifestyle and culture and not at least, you will find there a unique nature pearls.

Faroes are known as a paradise for nature lovers, visitors can enjoy hiking, sea angling, bird-watching, various adventures at sea, and much more.

Faroes are 18 islands in the middle of North Atlantic Ocean, northwest of Scotland and halfway between Iceland and Norway. The Islands are a self-governing island territory of Denmark, although they politically aim for higher independence. The Islands have a population of nearly 48,000, and a language and culture of their own. The islands capital, is called Tórshavn, world’s smallest capital. As opposed to superlatives of US or Europe, we think small is beautiful and interesting, and in the case of Tórshavn, small means laid-back and easy-going.

Faroes capital is inhabited by just 20,000 people but of course it feels like any capital city with a national government and administration. On the other hand, we accept that due to its compact size, it doesn’t have the extremes of bigger cities. No crazy high-end places but at same time, no totally lousy neighborhoods’. There are lots of quirky, hidden-away places to see and experience too.

When visiting Faroes you are never more than 5 km (3 miles) away from the ocean. The countryside is dominated by steep mountains and there are about 70,000 sheep and some 2 million pairs of seabirds, including largest colony of storm petrels in the world. Faroe Islands are undeniably beautiful: green, rugged and wind-swept. Most visitors to the islands come between early July and late August.

Faroese tourist season is very short. It begins in May and ends by September. Most visitors come between July and August by far. If you would like to avoid the busiest season, it is best to visit the Faroes in late May or early June. Faroese weather has its own temperament and is a lot like weather in neighboring regions, just more unpredictable.

One of the main reasons that people visit Faroe Islands are because of incredible nature and scenery. Faroe Islands turn extraordinarily green during the summertime. Fresh air, deep blue ocean and green mountains with their picturesque valleys, is something which would amaze anyone who enjoys being surrounded by nature. Sometimes, summer fog creates a mystical landscape, in which you may vividly imagine great history and mystical stories belonging to the islands.

Tranquility of the islands are great if you want to escape from big city madness. Faroese love to take things easy and are not at all worried about arriving on time. But if you ever find yourself in the mood for a night out in town, you will find that Tórshavn caters for your every need with it’s great shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
